Welcome to Black Butterfly Home Decor (Black Butterfly Designs, LLc). By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

Products and Services
- Product Descriptions: We strive to provide accurate descriptions of our products. However, we do not guarantee that the descriptions, colors, or other content is accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. Please message with questions where concerned
- Custom and Personalized Orders: Custom and personalized items are made to order and are not refundable and not exchangeable unless they arrive damaged or defective. Please review your custom order details carefully before submitting.

Ordering and Payment
- Order Acceptance: All orders are subject to acceptance by Black Butterfly Home Decor. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion.
- Payment: Payment must be received in full before your order is processed. Please see acceptable forms of payment below.
- Pricing: Prices are subject to change without notice. We are not responsible for pricing, typographical, or other errors in any offer and we reserve the right to cancel any orders arising from such errors.

Shipping and Delivery
- Shipping Costs: Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight, size, and destination of the order. The buyer is responsible for all shipping fees.
- Delivery Timeframes: Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control. Please see listing for shipping estimates.

 A Note Regarding Shipping

You may not use any content from our website without prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Black Butterfly Home Decor (Black Butterfly Designs, LLc) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our products or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of the State of California.

Changes to Terms and Conditions
- We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.

Custom and Personalized Orders

Custom orders are accepted and encouraged; See available listing for requirements.

🌸Timely communication is crucial. Please respond to messages as soon as possible. 

‼️Orders may take 5 days to 7 weeks to ship depending on the nature and size of order, see listing for detail. 

‼️Custom orders are non-cancelable 24 hours after order is received. To ship in a timely manner, we prefer to start orders once they are received. After 24 hours, materials are set aside or purchased for your order and not refundable.

Typical Processing time (See homepage for current or holiday schedule):
🦋Ready-to-ship orders ship in 1-3 business days.
🦋Custom orders ship in 5 days to 7 weeks (may be extended due to extent of custom design, materials and communication)

Refund and Exchange Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase! If for any reason you are not, please review our policy below: 

Refund and Exchange Requests - All refunds and/or exchange requests must be submitted within 14 days of receipt of your order. Requests made after this period will not be considered.

Custom and Personalized Orders - No refunds or exchanges are accepted on custom or personalized orders unless the item arrives damaged or defective. An image (including packaging), is required and must be submitted with 48 hours after receipt of package. Any requests made after 48 hours not be considered.

Condition of Returned Items - Items must be returned new, unused, and in sale-able condition. We reserve the right to deny a refund or exchange if the item shows signs of wear or damage. (Please note we document all packing processes including final image before closing package for shipping)

Approval Process - No refund or exchange will be processed without prior written approval. Please contact us to request a return or exchange, and wait for confirmation number before sending the item back.

Shipping Costs - The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we are not responsible for items lost during return shipping.

Return Timeframe - Once a return or exchange is approved, the item must be returned to us within 72 hours. If the package is not postmarked and received by the carrier within 72 hours of approval, the return or exchange will be voided.

Damage or Lost Order Policy

Damage Upon Delivery- We take great care in packaging your items to ensure they arrive safely. However, once the order is handed over to the carrier, we are not responsible for any damage that occurs during transit.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact the carrier directly to file a claim. Retain all packaging materials and damaged items as the carrier may require them for inspection.

While we are not responsible for carrier-related damage, we are happy to assist in the claims process by providing any necessary documentation.

Lost Orders - If your order is lost in transit, please contact the carrier to file a claim. We recommend using the tracking number provided in your shipping confirmation to track your package and determine its status.

We are not responsible for orders lost due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer. Please double-check your shipping address before completing your order. 

Shipping Insurance - For added protection, we recommend purchasing additional shipping insurance at checkout. This insurance covers the value of your order in case it is lost or damaged by the carrier.

Quality and Shipping

We quality check and document all orders prior to shipping. If you have any issues when your order is received, please do not hesitate to contact us. Results will be handled on a case by case basis. 

Though we are NOT responsible for handling by delivery services, if there is a problem with your delivery, we will do our best to assist with the carrier.  

Tracking numbers are shared upon shipping, Please allow 48 hours for status to update before contacting us if you do not see it.

Wholesale availability

Yes, we are able to process wholesale orders on select items. There is a minimum quantity of 10-20 per design order. Please see our Wholesale Collection for more information. Resale number must be provided to purchase without tax. 

Color Matching Disclaimer:

We create color matches based on the image(s) we receive. Taking into account for screen variations (brightness, contrast, saturations, etc.), may affect the image we view. Please message if you would like to see video or more images of the product(s) prior to shipping.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Gift wrapping is available for some items for an additional fee. See Gift Wrapping listing for detail.

Things to Know About Epoxy Resin

UV Sensitivity and Ambering
UV Exposure: Epoxy resin is sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the resin to yellow or "amber" over time. This is a natural process that occurs as the resin breaks down under UV rays.
Discoloration Timeline: The rate at which resin yellows depends on the type of resin used, the intensity of UV exposure, and the duration. Some resins may show signs of ambering within a few months, while others may take longer.

Care Instructions to Minimize Discoloration
Indoor Use: To minimize the risk of ambering, keep epoxy resin products indoors or in shaded areas where they are less likely to be exposed to direct sunlight.
Rotating Placement: If your resin product is part of home decor and exposed to sunlight, rotate it periodically to ensure even exposure and reduce uneven discoloration.
Understanding and Embracing Natural Aging
Aesthetic Changes: Some customers appreciate the ambering, effect as it gives the resin a warm, vintage appearance adding character over time. 
Managing Expectations: Be aware that resin products are likely to change color over time, especially if exposed to sunlight. This is not a defect but a characteristic of the material.

- AVOID extreme heat. Prolonged exposure can cause item to amber or discolor and soften.
- Do NOT use abrasive cleaners
- Durable and shatter resistant, but NOT shatter proof.
- Handle with care

- Wash board before use. Hand wash ONLY
- To maintain image, do not use printed side for cutting/chopping
- Disinfect and deodorize using vinegar
- Use cutting board oil to condition wood
